Introduced to music at the age of four by his mother, Julien Patenaude began his vocal training with Les Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal, where his father, Gilbert Patenaude, had the “privilege” of having him as a chorister for over ten years. He went on to study at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal and at the Université de Montréal, University of Toronto, and McGill University, as well as through several residencies, including the Brevard Music Center, Orford Music, and the Aberdeen International Youth Festival. Julien Patenaude has since worked as a soloist and chorister with a wide range of ensembles, primarily in Quebec. He now divides his time between singing, teaching, choral conducting, stage direction, and family life.
